3. Build a Team
Building the Book Distribution Network
You will succeed in spreading the epidemics of the Holy Name if you have strong networking and social skills. If you recruits 3 team members, and they recruit an additional 3, then you just built a team of ten!
The figures multiply exponentially. If this process (each recruit three) is repeated, then walking just five more layers down the hierarchy, you will build a team of more than 2000!
Most of us when asked to connect with three friends, start thinking really hard to come up with names of three people they could approach to join the book distribution team. This is because we ‘think’ we know no one. You will be surprised.
When looking for names here is a suggested list that can help jog your memory. These are people with whom you come into contact in your day-to-day life, or have been in contact during some time in your life:
2. Family (parents, children, uncles, aunts, grandparents, brothers, sisters, cousins, in-laws)
3. High School friends
4. Kid’s friends
5. Friends of relatives
6. Kid’s friends’ parents

35. Property Brokers – they know a lot of people
36. Members of Study Groups
37. Waiters at the restaurants
The above is just a suggested list.
The steps are:
1. Jog your memory and come up with names of your contacts.
2. Pick and choose the ones who you would like to approach first.
3. Talk, Talk, Talk. Do not be shy of approaching. We have no idea how much others want to help us. Track the subsequent follow up
4. If they drop off or decline, then go back to your original list and recruit some more. Aren’t you glad you have a list to fall back upon?
5. When you recruit someone, remember to give them this list since they need to jog their memory too!
The form can be used as a tool to help track your progress.
